About Dr Ines Santos

Founder and Lead Trainer

I'm Ines, founder of EMDR Nexus, an EMDR therapist, consultant, trainer, dedicated to helping individuals unlock their full potential through the power of EMDR therapy. At EMDR Nexus, we are proud to offer EMDR Europe accredited trainings that provide professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively apply EMDR in their clinical practice.

I am a Clinical Psychologist, specialist in trauma and complex trauma, with over 20 years of experience in the NHS. I worked at the Traumatic Stress Service, Maudsley; and as Trauma Lead for Brighton and Hove Assessment & Treatment Service.

My journey with EMDR therapy began in 1999 when I trained in this transformative approach. Since then, I have immersed myself in the world of trauma therapy and witnessed the profound impact of EMDR. This experience sparked my passion for empowering fellow therapists to harness the power of this incredible therapy.

Under the expert mentorship of Sandi Richman, I further developed my skills, becoming an EMDR Consultant and then a Trainer. For several years now, I have run my own training and I also join Sandi in delivering training for Richman EMDR Training.

In addition to EMDR training, I run a private practice and I offer supervision for individuals, groups and teams, including several NHS services (IAPT, secondary mental health, and specialist veteran mental health).

At EMDR Nexus, we are strongly committed to upholding the highest professional standards and strictly adhere to the EMDR Europe guidelines. This ensures that our training courses meet their rigorous criteria. Our trainings provide professionals with an invaluable platform to deepen their understanding of trauma theory and gain proficiency in the EMDR protocol across a wide range of clinical presentations and difficulties.

We prioritize a hands-on learning experience through small group work and practice sessions. This interactive approach allows participants to develop their knowledge and skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Our aim is to equip trainees with the necessary tools to facilitate healing and growth for their clients.

In addition, fostering a collaborative atmosphere is paramount to us. We encourage the exchange of ideas among participants in an inclusive environment, ensuring that that our training courses not only provide valuable knowledge and practical training but also facilitate professional growth and networking opportunities for all attendees.

EMDR Nexus is here to support you on your journey to enhance your therapy skills. Join us in our EMDR trainings and discover the transformative power of EMDR therapy firsthand.

I look forward to working with you and being a part of your growth as a therapist.

Excellent and very helpful – I enjoyed the delivery and Ines’s clear, passionate teaching.

Giving Back

I am involved in various EMDR community initiatives. I am the Coordinator for the EMDR Sussex Regional group, organizing EMDR CPD events both locally and online nationwide, promoting skills development and fostering connections within the EMDR community.

I was a Trustee of Trauma Aid UK, the humanitarian branch of EMDR, for over 10 years. In 2024, I conducted pro bono EMDR standard training in Jordan with my colleague trainer Simon Proudlock. This training continued the long-standing tradition of EMDR Trainers, including Sandi Richman, Sian Morgan, and Matt Wesson, who generously offered their expertise free of charge. It serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to expanding access to effective trauma therapy globally.

Author

I have authored and co-authored several articles, including Using Case Formulation in EMDR, and I deliver workshops on case formulation and treatment planning; as well as other EMDR workshops.

Really fantastic training – the handouts feel like good training wheels for managing anxiety and imposter syndrome.
